Kleppe 1st in discus, NFV 6th at Waukon

The NFV girls’ track and field athletes competed at the Waukon Girls’ Early Bird Relays on Tuesday (April 12) and took sixth place with 73 points.

The TigerHawks excelled in the field events as North Fayette Valley had an athlete place in the top three in all four events. Leading the way was Olivia Kleppe who took first in the discus (84’) and third in the shot put (29’5”).

North Fayette Valley’s Nick Buffington led the TigerHawks to a win in the team’s first golf meet of the 2022 spring on Monday afternoon in Fayette. Up against West Central, NFV shot 171 as a team while the Blue Devils carded a team total of 208 strokes.

The South Winneshiek girls were in action Tuesday evening, April 5, for their first outdoor action of the season in Jesup.

The Warriors came home with a third-place finish by scoring 77 points, behind only North Linn (142) and Wapsie Valley (102). Leading the way for SW were the distance events, which brought home first-place medals in four different events.

SW boys' track gets outdoor season underway

The South Winneshiek boys’ track and field team competed in its first outdoor meet of the season Monday (April 4), as it scored 27 points and took sixth at Decorah.

The Warriors were led by senior Isaiah Kruckman who captured first place in the 1600. Kruckman finished the race in 4:51.90 to earn 10 team points for South Winn.

The North Fayette Valley girls’ soccer team played its first-ever varsity games last week as the team got its 2022 season underway.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck

On Tuesday, April 5, the Lady TigerHawks headed to Gladbrook-Reinbeck to get their season underway against the Rebels.

Up against a more experienced and veteran squad, NFV fell by a score of 10-0.

The TigerHawk boys;’ track and field team got the outdoor portion of its season underway Tuesday, April 5, as it competed at Edgewood-Colesburg.

“Overall, I thought our guys competed well in the elements,” said coach Micah Ruroden, who’s team placed sixth up against both a field of 16 total teams and chilly, windy, and rainy conditions. “We have a lot of promising talent for the season and our young guys performed at a good level for this part of the season.”

TigerHawk girls' golf team shoots 262 in season debut

The NFV girls’ golf team got its 2022 spring season underway Monday afternoon, April 4, as it competed at Backbone Golf and Country Club in Strawberry Point.

“I thought we were okay for a starting place this year,” said coach Robin Madole, who’s team shot a 262 and came in behind East Buchanan (234) and Starmont (254). “I did see some great shots from each of our golfers, but we just need to get more consistent.”
