On Friday, March 12, 7 p.m., at the Valley Middle School, the North Fayette Valley Middle School Drama Club presents "A Pig Tale" by Kevin Jannetts.

This is a fairy tale story that reveals another version of "The Three Little Pigs", Pinky, Perky, and Maureen.  Pinky discovers she has been infected with An-thro-po-morph-ism, a frightful malady that makes animals take up human characteristics like walking on their hind legs, talking, and using furniture.  Perky and Maureen are also infected.  The Dairy Queen, who presides over the organic farm they live on, has noticed a leak in the fairy tale magic tank and sends a fairy/lawyer to try to straighten things out.  She also sends a wolf to try to scare the pigs and get her land back--but Maureen is too smart for that--and who knew the wolf was--let's just say--something unexpected.

The last time the South Winneshiek boys’ basketball team qualified for the State Tournament, “Walk Like an Egyptian” was the top song on the radio, “Beverly Hills Cop II” was one of the most popular movies of the year, and Scottie Pippen was a rookie member of a Chicago Bulls team that had not yet won any of its six NBA titles. On Saturday night in Manchester, that changed as the 2020-2021 Warrior squad won its Substate championship game, 63-57, over Gladbrook-Reinbeck and punched its ticket to the State Tournament!
