Where you live in Fayette County will determine which State Senator and which State Representative you vote for in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

If you live in the northern half of the County, the Senate District 28 seat will be on your ballot. The two candidates are Republican Mike Klimesh of Spillville and Matt Tapscott of Decorah. Incumbent Senator Republican Mike Breitbach of Strawberry Point is not running for re-election.

It all started back in 2009. A group of three northeast Iowa women decided to embark on a unique tour to several different area communities in search of something spooky.

“All three of us are obsessed with Halloween and we have always been interested in haunted places,” said Sara Haught, who along with good friends Renee Maher and Kelly Bouska, spend one weekend every fall visiting haunted locations. “We got the idea when I bought a book called the Iowa Road Guide to Haunted Locations. The book had a lot of locations that were relatively close to us, so we made it a goal to visit every place in the book.”

Now, 11 years later, the trio of good friends has visited over 100 haunted or paranormal locations throughout Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
